The Hitachi Side-Load Roofing Nailer's magazine, depth of drive and bullet-proof design make it the perfect nailer to handle any jobsite condition. The NV45AB2 is ideal for various construction applications such as the installation of asphalt roofing shingles and the installation of insulation boards. Deserved, we think. There?s no more fiddling on the roof because the depth of drive adjustment is tool-free now, too. Hitachi dumped the racket-grip handle in favor of a great rubber grip which is much easier on the user. Rubber pads were incorporated into the metal body protectors, ensuring a firm grip on the shingles without slipping. Hitachi kept the best features of this nailer?s predecessor, too?-things like pneumatic feed and return (most nailers we?ve seen have spring return), which help power the tool through tar and buildup that might otherwise trigger a jam. Tough housing stands up to shingle scrapes, and a carbide-tipped push lever means long life for the tool?s nose. Even at a nice, light 5.2 pounds, this workhorse fires an impressive three nails per second. Roofers will like the changes.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

After extensive research I chose the Hitachi roofing nailer and was not at all disappointed. The nailer proved to perform excellent under all conditions. No matter how fast I went it did not misfire or jam. The only time I did have a problem was when I went to use it for the first time. After it was "broke in" it performed excellent. My roofing contractor said that he would buy it from me whenever I wish to sell it (he had to try it out also). I am very satisfied with the purchase I made and have no buyers remorse on this item.
