One-piece cylindrical housing and aluminum die-cast inner cover and gear cover. Variable speed control dial, for ease during high-speed or high-torque jobs. Oversize trigger switch with reverse allows for better control and quick removal from materials. Elastomer, non-slip grip, designed to comfortably fit in hand and reduce vibration. Removable side handle with depth gauge, improves control and ensures accurate drilling depth for anchoring.STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Side handle, depth gauge, Injection molded plastic case.
SPECIFICATIONS: 6 Amp motor 5/8" industrial grade chuck. No-load speed of 0-2,900 RPM. 1-1/16" center height,10-19/32" long.

I have a few Hitachi products including a few stationary power tools, cordless drill and all are good except this 5/8" drill. It has no torque; the drill stalls and started smoking on a self-destruct mode. The transmission is geared too fast; rally needed a 2-speed gearbox. Anyway, my half inch 18V Milwaukee drill has plenty of torque, enough to dislocate your arm, and run circles around this corded Hitachi. Should have been a 3/8", not anywhere near 5/8" class drill. Ok for light duty but not much more.
