Hitachi developed the first sliding compound miter saw in 1988, and their years of experience shows with the C10FSH. The saw has a 57-degree miter angle to the right with a 45-degree miter angle to the left, providing you with the flexibility your job requires. The bevel angle range is 45 degrees to both the left and right, letting you easily flip the saw blade without moving the material. Quickly set up precise cuts with the positive stops on the miter and bevel scale. Miter detent stops are available at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, and 45 degrees to both the right and left.
With its 12 Amp motor, the C10FSH provides plenty of power for tough cuts, and the electronic speed control maintains RPM while cutting. The 10-inch blade can be stopped within seconds using the electronic brake. And to help ensure accuracy, this saw includes a built-in laser marker that creates adjustable laser lines, so you can make precise cuts every time.
Smooth Sliding Mechanism
A linear ball bearing slide system provides a smooth feel that offers enhanced accuracy and control. By using a slide system, you have an increased cutting length as compared to regular compound miter saws.
Smart Design Keeps You Working Fast and Safe
Hitachi developed the C10FSH with many features that increase safety from start to finish. An electronic soft start minimizes recoil and suppresses sound pressure for a smooth startup while a splinter guard prevents materials from splintering. A chip deflector provides zero clearance support and is fully adjustable to prevent tear-out. Your work pieces are held with extra stability thanks to an adjustable pivot fence.
A dust collection attachment reduces airborne particles to keep your workspace clean and safe, and the carbon brush is designed to be user accessible and replaceable, so you can easily extend the life of the tool.
The C10FSH weighs 43 pounds and is compatible with the Hitachi UU610 Universal Work Station. It is backed by a five-year warranty.

Customer Review: It's just as great as expected.

To me, Hitachi sliding compound miter saws are a member of a group of "elite" tools that are the "best of the best" in terms of function and value. They are the finest representations of particular types of tools available at a competitive price to the consumer (think Bosch jigsaws or Panasonic cordless drills). I bought mine with very high expectations, and received exactly what I expected - a well made, beautifully functioning saw. It genuinely has the sound and feel of a tool that is a "cut above" (sorry, couldn't resist). Of course it isn't perfect. I agree with others who have complained of the "handedness" of its trigger design (although it isn't all that hard to operate it with one's left), and the fact that it doesn't come with the optional higher fence is absurd. It also may not be quite as beefy in its construction as the Bosch competition (the only other saw I seriously considered), but that fact is more than offset by its light weight. This thing is almost as portable as my old Ridgid non-slider - and, let's face it, most of us have to lug these things around from time to time, and put them back on a shelf when we're done. That's pretty darn easy to do with this saw. One other thing that's worth mentioning: at least for now, Hitachi's 10" saws are made in Japan. The 12" version is built in China. The 12s are much heavier than the 10s, feel somewhat coarser and don't have considerably greater cutting capacity. I have also heard about some reliability issues with the 12" saws. I am hopeful that Chinese origin will not always mean lesser quality, but my experiences with Hitachi's two larger saws (don't know about the 8") tells me that the 10" represents the best from the best.
